Baltimore Real Estate Round-Up: Downtown Condos!

October 20th, 2009 by Dan Volin

Sometimes when we’re bored and watching movies about high-powered lawyer types who live in luscious high-rise apartment buildings, a not-small twinge of private jealousy surges in our stomach.  It just seems so cool:  taking an elevator home, overlooking the city from a balcony, being a high-powered lawyer type, oh, why not?  And if we’re going to be (or pretend to be) a high-powered lawyer type in Baltimore, we’re going to do it downtown in one of these condos.

250 President Street #1001
This two-bedroom, two-bath condo in Little Italy/Harbor East is a little bit more than great.  First of all, it’s right by Little Italy and Harbor East, which means that plenty of restaurants, shops, and nightlife are all within walking distance.  Secondly, the building has a 24-hour fitness center, indoor pool, and 24-hour front desk staff.  Thirdly, the apartment’s open floorplan gives it an amazing amount of flexibility and floorspace, enabling the resident (you, hopefully!) to show off the wide-plank hardwood floors or the wide, covered terrace or whatever else you like about the apartment (though the walk-in closets may be tricky).  Priced at $328,000, down from $334,900.

23 Pierside Drive #308
First on the list is this furnished one-bedroom, one-bath condo down by the water in Federal Hill.  Not only is the Harbor view pretty staggering, but the building is loaded with amenities.  Loaded, you say — isn’t that a strong adjective?  Well, not if the building includes underground parking, a coffee shop, a restaurant, two gyms and two pools.  There’s also a washer/dryer built into every unit.  Priced at $249,900, down from $263,900.

414 Water Street #2910
This furnished one-bedroom, one-bath condo is available either to rent or to own.  And considering that this downtown beauty is two blocks from the Harbor, central to public transportation, and chock full of building niceties, well, we’d be surprised if it’s around for much longer.  The apartment comes with stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and maple cabinets in the kitchen, as well as a fireplace, a Bose stereo system, two wall-mounted flatscreen televisions, and, best of all, a private balcony.  On-site features include a meeting room, 24-hour security, and a 24-hour fitness center.  Priced at $265,000 to own, down from $290,000.

If you’d like to know more about any of these apartments — or if you have an entirely different house in mind – get in touch with us at Urban Discoveries Living. We’ll help you out with any and all of your real estate needs.
