The Real Estate Wonk has a great story about the problems of affordable housing in tough economic times and accompanying video of a recently finished project in Baltimore’s Brooklyn neighborhood.

Back in April we told you about Talara opening in Harbor East, and  now On the Town has a review of the bar there.  Key words in the review: “spirited” and “inexpensive.”

Speaking of food, Dining@Large wants to know 100 things every foodie should do in Baltimore.  Our suggestion: pad thai at Thairish.  (So good!)

Baltimore Architecture Week is coming up, says Urban Palimpsest. More on this later this week!

Important news for artists!  One: the Baker Artist Awards are back.  Winners are selected by a private jury, with up to three entrants winning $25,000 apiece.  Bmore Art has all the details.  Two:  Applications are open for free studio space in the Bromo-Seltzer Arts tower.  We’re a bit late on this one; applications are due this Friday, October 9th.  Charm City Craft Mafia knows what’s up.  Apply here.

Audacious Ideas finishes up their work on National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month.
