Real Estate Round-Up — Baltimore's Best New Listings

This weeks new listings include a Wyman Park colonial for $260k, a Washington Village rowhouse for under $175k, and a couple of kitchens we’d love to get our hands on…

Wyman Park

There’s a lot to like about this two-story, three-bedroom, one-bath rowhouse near Wyman Park. It’s got the sort of trappings that give a rowhouse immediate appeal (hardwood floors, exposed brick), plus a few extra touches to help it stand out from those… rows of rowhouses out there (a skylight; covered porch; built-in bookcases). We’d also like to get our hands on that kitchen — it’s fine now, but it’s also big enough to be turned into something really great. Worth noting:  the house is eligible for the Johns Hopkins Live Near Your Work program. Listed at $260,000.

Washington Village

Sure, this three-story, three-bedroom, two-bath brick rowhouse looks more functional than stunning from the outside. But once you get inside, things get glitzier. Take the kitchen, for one:  it’s got granite counters and stainless steel appliances. Or the master bath, with a huge tiled shower and jacuzzi. The high-ceilinged basement is fully-finished, and has its own bathroom; there’s also a lovely rooftop deck for your lounging pleasure. Listed (cheaply!) at $174,900.

Patterson Park

This three-bedroom, 2.5-bath townhouse one block from Patterson Park is relatively roomy — 1500 square feet spread over two stories. The freshly-painted home features some nice built-in shelves and bookcases, a first-floor laundry room, and a kitchen that could be cute or headache-inducing, depending on your tolerance for black-and-white checkerboard. Still, you can’t beat the location. Priced at $210,000 — low-ish for the neighborhood.

  • Not to be too picky, but that Gough St. house is either in Upper Fells Point or Butcher’s Hill. Despite its proximity to the park, it is not in the “Patterson Park” neighborhood. My guess is Upper Fells–I think that Pratt is the border of Butcher’s Hill.

  • totally right — Upper Fells Point indeed. Which I guess translates into “Patterson Park” in real estate speak…

  • Which is funny, because if it was listed as Butcher’s Hill they could probably get more for it. Patterson Park’s home values tend to be lower than either UFP or Butcher’s Hill (I should know–I just bought there last month after renting if UFP and being priced out of buying there!) Sounds like this agent should study his/her comps!
