Baltimore Crime warns us that new City laws have upped the fine for leashless dogs to $1,000 — and police have been conducting “raids” in some of the bigger city parks. Leash up!

Urban Palimpsest rhapsodizes about a particularly urban sign of spring:  the bag trees blooming. (There’s actually a blog that posts nothing but pictures of bags in trees in Baltimore:  seriously.)

Audacious Ideas weighs in on a pending zoning change by the City Council that would impact where drug treatment centers are allowed to be.

Apartment Therapy rounds up the season’s best local garden/flower events.

The RealEstateWonk notes a slight uptick in home sales in the region (though not in Baltimore City) last month; overall, though, asking prices are down 18 percent from two years ago for the median home — that’s a $60,000 difference!

The Baltimore Chop coffee shop in Ridgely’s Delight has closed, and the Starbucks at 300 N. Charles Street is slated for closure as well.
